If your future self could send you one sentence, what do you hope it would say?
Exactly what it did when I stumbled upon it 13 years later.
“Respect the hurdle but keep your eye on the goal.”
~ The Way of the Panty | Stewardess Log —September 25, 2013
It was a simple feat. One I came up with while showering. Aim, shoot, and land my panties next to the other undies already lining the countertop. It seemed simple enough, but I was on the other side in this glass-enclosed shower stall.
To land the shot, before the panties could reach the designated spot, they would have to clear the door’s rim and then land on the top of the basin.
Aside: The bathroom suite in the Fairmont Hotel (Canada) is exquisite. There is a real BATH, BASIN, and SHOWER room —with a separate room for the toilet. It is truly one of my favorite layover hotels —if only for the designer bathroom suite.
But I digress.
So, I slipped off my panties, washed them as I typically would —rinsed them, balled them up:
She aims, she shoots, she scores!!!
And just like that —I achieved my goal!
So, next I thought through the steps it took to achieve the goal.
I focused on two things and two things only: the obstacle and the outcome. That was it.
The moral of this story? When you want to accomplish something —respect the hurdle but keep your eye on the goal. ~M
