Amid Hurricane destruction, School is Open

In Virgin Gorda, The British Virgin Islands, a 13-year-old girl started her own a school despite the once beautiful island, where she lives, is now in ruins. She wants the younger children to be prepared to advance in their grades when the island returns to normal.

In other parts of the island, many remind onlookers they may have lost their houses in the hurricane but their “home” remains intact.

In this short film, Sam Branson, son of the serial entrepreneur and business magnate, Richard Branson, will share the spirit and determination of those who survived the category 5 hurricane and vow to rebuild.

Shortly after this film was made, the island was hit again by Hurricane Maria.

If you can help: Go to BVI Community Appeal

Virgin Unite’s overheads are covered by Richard Branson and the Virgin Group, meaning that 100% of all donations received will go directly to helping support local BVI communities.
